Rigid Contact Lens Polishing

Rigid contact lenses develop protein deposits over time and can become scratched. They are also prone to warpage and/or base curve flattening. At Adler Eye Associates, we provide a comprehensive lens evaluation service for your rigid contact lenses. This service includes checking your lenses for warpage and polishing to remove scratches and protein deposits from your lenses, which not only improves vision quality but also promotes better eye health. We also roll the edges of the contacts if necessary to improve comfort. Adler Eye Associates is one of the only optometry practices in the area that does in-house rigid lens polishing. This procedure only takes a few minutes and can be done while you wait by appointment. Otherwise, this service is done as time permits.

If you are not one of our patients we recommend you get a copy of your lens specifications from your optometrist/contact lens fitter so that we can properly evaluate your lenses.

Adler Eye Associates recommends that wearers of Rigid Gas Permeable (RGP) and hard lenses have their lenses professionally polished every 12 months.
