PERSONAL / PROFESSIONAL

Dr. Barry Adler is a native of North Carolina, born in Morganton. He came to Chapel Hill in 1958 to attend the University of North Carolina. After receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 1965, Dr. Adler served two years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he returned to Chapel Hill and founded Adler Eye Associates on Willow Drive in March 1969.

Dr. Adler has been an affiliate of The Laser Center since 1997 and has served on their advisory board. He is certified in OrthoKeratolgy, a non-surgical alternative to lasik refractive surgery. Specializing in the fitting of contact lenses for over 40 years, he has dedicated himself to the highest quality optometric care.
