Will I loose my appointment if I don't confirm it?

No. Once you make an appointment with us, you have it unless it is canceled. Confirming an appointment simply reaffirms that you are aware of the appointment and have every intention of keeping it. It also squelches all preliminary reminders (those that are sent out several days prior to the appointment).

Why are you sending me so many reminders for my appointment?

We are trying to accommodate as many people as possible. If we only send one reminder, some people will complain that they didn't get it and we should have sent more. There is also the question of when to send the reminder. If we send it too early, it may not be effective. People may forget about the appointment. If we send only the day before the appointment, some people may not read their email that day and would miss the reminder. So, our solution is to first confirm the appointment when it is made. This gives our patient immediate feedback as to when the appointment is scheduled for and whom it is with. Then, 5 days before the appointment, we start sending out preliminary reminders. We will send a preliminary reminder out each day up until 2 days before the appointment unless the patient confirms the appointment by clicking on the Confirm Appointment button embedded in the reminder email. Confirming the appointment stops the rest of the preliminary reminders from being sent. We will unconditionally send a final appointment reminder out the day before the appointment so that the appointment will be fresh in the patients mind. All appointment reminders (both preliminary and final contain a Cancel Appointment button. If for any reason you are unable to make the scheduled appointment, we ask that you please let us know by clicking this button. If for some reason, this button does not work for you, you may simply reply to the email or call our office to let us know that you are canceling the appointment so that we can make this time slot available to other patients.

I'm having trouble Confirming/Canceling my appointment.

There have been a few reported cases where the Confirm Appointment and/or Cancel Appointment buttons did not work. We are not sure why this happens in all cases. In some cases, it is due to anti-virus/anti-spyware programs blocking the buttons embedded in an email. If you are experiencing problems confirming or canceling an appointment, click on the "Click here if you are having problems confirming/canceling your appointment" hyperlink below the Confirm Appointment or Cancel Appointment buttons. This will open a browser page that will allow you to confirm/cancel your appointment.
